Privacy Policy

The short version: Stillgreen does not collect, sell, or share your data. Your plants, rooms, photos, and journal stay on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. If you turn on iCloud sync, your library syncs privately through your own Apple iCloud — we never see it.

1. Who this applies to

This policy covers the Stillgreen iOS app (“the app”, “we”, “us”). It explains what the app does — and, more importantly, doesn’t do — with your information.

2. Information we collect

None. Stillgreen has no servers and no backend of its own. We do not create an account for you, we do not ask you to sign in, and we never receive your plants, photos, notes, or any other personal information.

Everything you add to the app is stored locally on your iPhone.

3. Where your data lives

  • On your device. Your plants, rooms, Light Maps, care logs, notes, and photos are saved in the app’s private storage on your iPhone.
  • Optional iCloud sync. If you enable “iCloud backup & sync” in Settings, the app stores a copy of that same data in your private iCloud account so it can sync across your own devices. This uses Apple’s iCloud and is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. We have no access to your iCloud data. iCloud sync is off by default.

4. Camera & photos

If you choose to add a progress photo, the app asks permission to use your camera or photo library. Photos you add are stored only on your device (and in your own iCloud if sync is on). They are never uploaded to us or to any third party.

5. Location & compass

The 2D Light Map can use your device’s compass heading to help you align your room with real-world north. This is used momentarily, on-device, while you set up a Light Map. Your location is not stored and not transmitted anywhere. This permission is optional — the Light Map works without it; you can set north manually.

6. Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app schedules a few gentle care reminders directly on your device. These are generated locally — no notification content leaves your phone, and nothing is sent through a remote server.

7. Update checks

When the app starts, it may quietly check whether a newer version exists by contacting Apple’s public App Store lookup service (itunes.apple.com/lookup). This request includes only the app’s identifier (com.stillgreen.app) — no personal data, no device identifiers, and nothing about you or your plants. You can ignore the resulting reminder at any time.

8. No analytics, ads, or tracking

Stillgreen contains no analytics frameworks, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs. We do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), we do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not build any profile of you.

9. Sharing & selling

Because we never collect your data, there is nothing for us to share or sell. We do not disclose your information to anyone.

10. Children

Stillgreen is suitable for all ages (rated 4+). It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

11. Your control over your data

  • All your data stays on your device and is removed if you delete the app.
  • You can erase everything inside the app at any time via Settings → Clear all data.
  • You can turn iCloud sync on or off at any time in Settings → iCloud backup & sync.

12. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
